We’ve expanded our Global Consumer & Sensory Science organization by investing in a fully equipped, best in class Consumer Science Sensory Center, located at Bell’s global headquarter in Northbrook, IL. At the intersection of science and senses, the Center fuses the consumer voice into the creation process, inspiring memorable flavors and fragrances that fit brand, performance and emotion.
We strategically designed this facility to mimic a consumer research testing center where we conduct traditional sensory methods as well as consumer research.
To support our iterative approach to developing consumer-validated flavors and fragrances, we’ve expanded our consumer research and sensory science toolkit. to offer deeper, more nuanced insights into consumer perceptions of our flavors and fragrance.
At the start of their sensory journey, panelists can comfortably wait in the reception area while viewing the agenda for daily happenings.
Designed to foster close collaboration among Bell’s Consumer and Sensory Science professionals, this area includes five cubes, an office and a team huddle room.
Showcasing 17 individual booths, with one booth complying with Americans with Disabilities Act standards, each is equipped with a serving window connected to the kitchen. Positive air flow pushes any strong aromas from this room into the kitchen.
Connected directly to the panel booths, this space houses commercial grade equipment, including microwaves, a stove top, and an oven, fridge and freezer. It also contains a TV where Bell’s Consumer and Sensory Science professionals can track sample serving.
This space is for conducting descriptive panel training or qualitative consumer research. It includes a corporate-sized table, two-way viewing mirror, and features live stream capabilities for remote individuals.
The viewing room allows customers to view and hear descriptive panel or consumer discussions through a two-way mirror and audio speakers.
Proximal to the research rooms and the Bell Consumer and Sensory Science team, this is a quiet space for customers to work or take calls.
