Regulatory Affairs Specialist
Status: Permanent, Full Time
Position Overview: Reporting to the Director, Quality Assurance, the Regulatory Affairs Specialist is primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service and responding to internal and external customer inquiries regarding regulatory affairs. More specifically, the incumbent will:
Main Tasks:
- Create the required documentation using the various databases available (e.g. SBT, Genesis, Digital Kosher, IOFI, FEMA);
- Respond to requests via our computerized system (ESP or other) or through client portals;
- Send requests for approval of our finished products to government authorities (e.g. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Health Canada (FMM));
- Monitor regulations regarding ingredients, flavors and fragrances and ensure that all new information is communicated to the team;
- Maintain and update the documentation related to our various certifications (e.g. Kosher, SQF, organic, etc.);
- Respond to internal requests and act as a reference person for colleagues;
- Verify and approve the documentation of raw materials and finished products during activation;
- Update our raw material databases;
- Collaborate with our sister plants;
- Support the QA/QC team for the approval of new suppliers;
- Participate in special projects;
- Maintain the organic certification program;
- Perform all other general and clerical duties related to the position
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree (B.Sc.) in a food industry-related discipline or relevant experience;
- 3 to 5 years experience in documentation management;
- Experience in regulatory affairs ;
- Experience in the flavor or food industry (asset);
- Fluency in English and French, both oral and written;
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
